The World Hat Walk began in Barcelona, Spain, in 2014, aiming to celebrate the art of millinery and unite hat enthusiasts. The initiative quickly gained momentum, inspiring cities worldwide to host their own walks.
Berlin embraced the tradition in 2024, marking its entry into this global celebration.
Tatiana Ashakova, a driving force behind the Walk, sustainable fashion curator and a milliner behind her brand BeretkAh…! pulled together the city’s first hat walk that attracted over 60 participants, showcasing a vibrant display of creativity and style. The event concluded at the Art City People Café in Hackmann Höfe, reinforcing Berlin’s commitment to fostering community and artistic expression.

The 2025 World Hat Walk is set to be the most expansive yet, with over 40 cities across the world participating simultaneously on April 27, 2025. Cities such as London, Oslo, Graz and smaller towns like Fakenham and Norfolk, have announced their involvement, reflecting the event’s growing international appeal.
